Experience Oslo from the land and sea! An easy ride along the fjord bike path leads you to the start of the kayak tour. Starting from a quiet bay, your kayak guide will lead the group along the pristine Oslo coastline, passing islands, traditional wooden homes, sea cliffs and charming beaches. Kayak experience is not necessary and you will be provided a safety introduction from our partners at Oslo Kayak Tours. Total kayak time, including introduction, is 2 hours, with time to stop for food and drink.
Please note that the bike portion of the tour is self-guided. When you pick up the bike from the Viking Biking shop, you will be provided a detailed map and route description. Before the kayak tour, make sure to use your bike to discover a hidden side of Oslo -- its preserved coastline. You have the rental bike for the entire day (from 9:30-18:00), and thanks to Viking Biking's personalised mapping service, you will be able to find your own private beach, unknown paths through stunningly green farmland and picnic spots in the coastal forest. Oslo has some of the best nature of any city in the world, and this combination tour will allow you to experience it first hand.
The bike ride is flat and the kayak tour on usually calm waters. However, this is a full-day activity so participants should be able to bike at least 10 kilometers (6 miles) in each direction. No kayak experience required but participants must be able to swim.
May - September: booking a minimum of 48 hours in advance. Kayak tour begins at 14:00 (2pm), so participants must come to the bike shop by 13:00 (1pm) at the latest to pick up the bikes. Bikes can be picked up as early as 9:30.
