For experienced cyclists, a winter bike rental is the perfect way to discover Oslo safely and securely on a bike specifically equipped for winter cycling. We provide a quality bike with spiked winter tires, helmet, lock and customized mapping service, so that you are able to see all of the different sides of Oslo: trendy neighborhoods, the historic downtown, castles and palaces, world-class parks, and stunning coastline. 

 

Experience Oslo like a local and at your own pace. You can pick the bike up anytime after 10:00 and return it before the Viking Biking shop closes at 15:30. If you would like the bike for a longer period of time then consider our 24-hour or Multi-day rental options and you make keep the bike overnight or for multiple days as long as you have secure location to store the bikes at night. The Oslo Winter Bike experience awaits you!

Adults Daily: 175 kroner

Adults 24-Hours: 225 kroner

Youth/Students Daily: 140 kroner  (with valid student ID)

Youth/Students 24-hours: 180 kroner (with valid student ID)

FITNESS LEVEL

A winter bike rental is for those with experience riding on spiked winter tires in winter conditions. Oslo offers a variety of biking opportunities for the experiences rider in the winter along coastal paths and throughout the city centre.

AVAILABILITY

November-March: Monday - Saturday, 6 days per week, from 10:00-15:00. Advanced booking recommended (but not required). Open based on weather and riding conditions. Please contact us in advance for availability.

Viking Biking offers a custom designed map (available for sale on-line or in our shop for 25 kroner) tested by our team of experienced guides, which provides detailed routes for the following self-guided tours:

  • Downtown Oslo's highlights, ranging from the Royal Palace to the Vigeland sculpture park to the modern harbor of Aker Brygge;
  • Bygdøy peninsula: home to Oslo's most famous museums like the Viking Ships and Fram, as well as some of the city's best nature with beaches, sea cliffs, farmland and forest;
  • Akerselva River path with its impressive waterfalls, and the trendy neighborhood of Grünerløkka;
